Faith. Statecraft.
Perspective.
A geopolitical review, analysis, and commentary hub for the Orthodox world.
Strategikon bridges classical Western political and military strategic thinking with Eastern Orthodox Christian phronema—the mindset, spirit, and will that shapes how we understand the world.
An enduring name. A contemporary purpose.
Named after Emperor Maurice’s manual of strategy, Strategikon brings an Orthodox perspective to the institutions, conflicts, and ideas that shape international affairs.
Our editorial approach
Notes provide brief, factual context. Foundational pieces introduce history and institutions. Analysis examines what is happening, why it matters, what may follow, and what remains uncertain. Opinions and Book Reviews give contributors space to make their own arguments; they do not represent official editorial positions.
Our founder
Nikiphoros is an Orthodox Christian raised and educated in the United States, with family in the East and professional experience in national security, diplomacy, and statecraft in the Washington, D.C. area.
Independent by conviction
Strategikon is not affiliated with a formal Orthodox Christian institution. Our work is geopolitical commentary, not spiritual advice. For spiritual questions, consult your parish priest.
